A chronicle of Canons

.

I found a camera in a closet. A film camera. A Canon GL17 to be exact. I was twelve. I didn’t know what a good photograph was. I just knew that I liked to be outside and I liked to document my adventures.

5 years later. My mom was the best photographer I knew. She let me borrow her EOS Elan IIe. I proceeded to burn through numerous rolls of film with dismal results.

Age 19. My Canon 10D and I were new best friends. No more film. Trial by fire. Fire away.

Canon 20D and an underwater housing quickly took the place of the 10D. It lived a glorious, but short life. So suddenly ended at the bottom of the ocean. But we carry on.

5D MkII and Mk IV. Present. We have a good relationship. We are going to try to keep each other from drowning. We’ve learned a bit along the way. Still a ways to go. We just need to feed the monster.
